Quite like the Augusta style pipes, but yeah, single headlight is the way to go.

Twin wouldn't be bad, but not those crap dominator ones.

A single round headlight would be best IMHO

Is that the owners leather handbag on the steps...?

I still have that fly in my lug about custom bikes:

apart from the overly wide front wheel and the predator style headlight I love this.
Makes me want to get one. If the offroad bike goes I will be embarking on a new project.

Lol, not far from the truth.

I've noticed loads of ad's now even state "not barn find" in the title as it's obviously become a popular search term.

Ebay is crazy.  People seem to go mad over things and pay way over the odds.

When I went looking for a bike to restore, it took me ages to get a deal that was sensibly priced.  There were some snotter bikes going for crazy money.  Just stick the words 'barn find/vintage' on the listing and watch the idiots chuck money at it.

The problem is, why is it when I come to sell a bike, no sod wants to pay anything like that  :dunno  :BangHead:

that bike made 3200. How mad is that - you can buy one of the same vintage, full running example for £4000 on ebay.

I don't understand. that was a 2 grand bike max. Someone got a bargain (not)

BSH went weird sometime in 2012ish when the owners sacked Blu and some bloke called Nik started editing. It became shite. They even got rid of the very sexy curvy, dirty and tattooed ladies I enjoyed very much (as their Christian principles and interest in two wheeled engineering chimed with my own). I think Anne Widdicombe has had something to do with it

I started reading BSH about 2007 when I suddenly realised that customs aren’t all big twins. Then I noticed the frame geometry and style, forks and back ends, wheels, tanks, lighting and seats. And bars. Before long I was hooked on the outright invention and individuality and the bikes people created to give them the exact ride they wanted

After you rubbed one out on the dolly birds of course  ;)

I think I have can'd the idea for now, but to answer your question, I wasnt necessarily going to build a new frame.
The plan would have been to take it apart and see where I could make improvements. If that necessitated a new frame then so be it.

For me this sort of thing is all about the experience of riding it. Its never going to be as agile as any sports bike, however I bet it could be a terrific road bike given with the correct geometry, suspension, and ergonomics. That massive chunk of torque propelling you forward would be great.

Why aren't you building your own frame around a donor motor, Coxy?

but I don't get the shoeing of a quarter of a ton of iron engine in to a sprots bike frame.

Yeah but you fancied a Buell didn't you, which is pretty much what they did ;)

I do see where you're coming from though, I wouldn't go putting it in an R1 frame, but just something sportier than a cruiser would be good. Would like a go for a wallop of that torque in a good frame :)

I can see where you’re coming from, but think that Coxy just likes the challenge Gaz.
