They all get pulled apart when the starter relay fails and the sprag clutch follows suit!

i might have a bit of a line onto a RSV Factory at a bargain price.

Ticks all the boxes - dripping with ohlins, OZ, Brembo and carbon fibre, 8000 miles on it.

Been sat in a garage since 2013.

See what happens. I will definitely have to sell the off road bike if I buy this.

almost too nice to pull apart!

Not really what I am looking for but keep the ideas coming!

Probably the best way.  Wait for something that feels right with a good deal and then work with it from there.

I had no particular choice for my 'resto' project, but the FJ appeared on eBay at a good price and no-one else seemed interested so I (hopefully) got a good deal.

i have no idea what to do at the moment.

I think the plan is to do nothing until a bargain drops into my lap and go from there.

I think Ron Maxton (if he’s still alive) is still certain that two rear shocks are better than a mono. I think he assisted development of a twin shock Norton racer. Anyway.. for it’s uniqueness I’d suggest such a thing e.g. XJR

if I am building a custom road bike, what in your opinions is a good rear end?

been looking at a few different options.  I am thinking about possibly a multistrada 1200 rear end maybe, but not sure whether or not it will go with the mk1 front

no its a custom paint job, which looks really nice on the pics, then for some unfathomable reason someone has decided to cut chunks out the fairing so they can get at the bolts underneath.
