what the TDM? its a twin cam 10v engine

the vfr1200 is a unicam, but given its got 2 heads its also a twin cam I suppose.

unless you were talking about something completely different.

Took myself for a solo ride on the tdm yesterday. Headed up to Alan heads. I should ride this bike more. It was brilliant.  If I had to build and set a bike up for the roads of the north Yorkshire moors and scotland, it would be this bike.

It does cruising, absorbing the bumps and ruts, its flickable, the engine it brilliant, it's like 2 engines, its docile below 4k and it like bumbling along with small throttle openings, then when you open it up at low rpm it barks and you can feel the power building. Above 5k rpm it really pulls hard and there is a notable step, must be the cams.

Riding back after a latte at allenheads I started to open it up and it was just perfection. I cant fault it. Except I am not mad keen on the looks.

Cant ave everything I suppose!

Biking really is good for the soul. I went out because I was feeling quite stressed about various things that are currently happening in my life, I arrived home with the stress levels much reduced.

Can’t argue with that... here’s one from Colchester Pride.

Guzzi's are a little bit gay, though. I don't mean full on city centre road closures with a rainbow parade, floats, glitter and tight leather shorts. More, being rightly suspicious of the intent of the Guzzi owner peeping through the hole in the cubicle wall he drilled a few days previously

Cracking engine and it’ll have all of the electronics that you’ll need...

Still prefer the little Guzzi though.

Yeah, I had one as a track bike, and so did my dad. In fact half of my dads is on my trx now!

And here's an ebay curve ball. For the same money I could possibly have this:

Yup

It’s got all the right cycle parts on it. Years ago I was toying with getting an alloy trellis made and using RSV front and back end. Then Aprilia made their Marlin or Blue Marlin but it never went further than a concept bike and I was too into trackdays to care!

I don’t think you can go wrong with it as a donor. The sprag parts ate interchangeable with Ducati which I understand are cheaper. Just keep an eye on it and keep it serviced and it’ll be fine. If it’s a naked or half faired bike you’re thinking of, get a good look at the RSV without it’s fairing because there’s an oil cooler on it and it’s oil tank is located front LHS of the motor. Solid 115hp at the rear wheel, not big but good spread of torque and nice offbeat exhaust note

Sounds like the Guzzi is a safer bet, that's only got Italian electrics

haha hes not lying, I am well aware of all the gremlins they have.

the mk2 engine also has a stator unit that boils itself , and clocks that reset to zero every now at then!
