Welcome to Commuter Motorcycle Club
Good afternoon,
Welcome to the Commuter Motorcycle Summer Portal
Woohoo! CMCHQ has seen three straight days of sun so it's officially CMC Summertime! Now is the time us all year round commuters will see those sprots bike commuters come out in their shorts, flip flops, medallions and shiny R1's showing us how to ride ;) For us all year rounders this just means we don't shiver so much and have to avoid the lack of clothes exposing bits of skin on pedestrians we haven't seen for a while. And yes women are just as bad as men for blimping.
Member Update
Dazzo is continuining to push the barriers and his Just Giving page proves that: http://www.justgiving.com/Duncan-Davies0 - But he's a few donators short of a hundred, if you could donae a pound or two it would really help his great cause, The British Heart Foundation.
We also offer our congratulations to CMC Newbie Fen Rider who joined, got married and went on honey moon! That man lives in the fast lane and any resemblance to past member Veda Sticks seems purely coincidental.
Sidestand has updated the forum and Facebook with tons of lovely pictures from his latest tours and some from the IOMTT. Others have got jobs (congrats!) while others are still waiting (keep going).
Sadly for race fans the NW200 had a bad run due to weather but Seeley did well and it was all good. IOMTT started on a downbeat note as the lost of Japanese rider Yoshinari Matsushita (RIP) died in an accident during qualifying. Yohinari started at the TT in 2009 and was very much liked and respected on the scene, the BBC Sports pages report it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/motorsport/22684974
On the up side Michael Dunlop has been eating his readybrek (other super breakfasts are available) and has, at the time of writing, four race wins under his belt. McGuinness looks to be doing well on his fried full English breakfasts as he set the pace at a blistering 129.14mph on his fourth lap, which only goes to prove carrying a bit of extra weight makes you faster. He's also got his eyes on stopping the incredible meeting Dunlop is having. Can't mention them all but Josh Brookes and Rutter (3 times TT Zero winner) are having a great run too, long may they continue.
Forum Update
With summer here (oh yes it is!) the fayres, bike parties and ride outs are in full flow and CMC is no different with peopple meeting up at venues and going off on ride outs. This year we will again be visiting Wales under the guidance of Readmarx and will be meeting up with our Welsh contingent for beer, barbecues and rides out around the excellent Welsh scenery.
It's not all fun though... Erm... Well it is kinda.
Summer has it's own riding problems, insects, women, pedestrians, dogs, sunburn and more be we discuss them all at www.dashack.co.uk/go and have a look. We are nice and don't bite new peoples heads off.
Just to prove the point about Summer riding hazards, Ross has just walked in with a busted hand, shoulder and a busted Bandit due to someone walking off the pavement in front of a car (currently 5 hours waiting in A&E). Be careful out there.
Coming up!
The MRO series has kicked off already... Why not get along to your local circuit and support the mentalists spending all their money on providing some great racing http://www.bemsee.net/
With all this sun and for £12 a day or less you can get along to a local track and see some great racing from the youngsters on 125's through the big bikes and on to the old Vintage races where you Matchless, Vincent and Nortons all pitted against each other. Unlike big races you can get close to the riders and spanner monkeys (often they are one and the same) and they usually have a chat and a laugh.
A warning though, once you go you'll be hooked!
Don't forget to pop up on the forum and say hello, join in with the banter or just peek over from behind the pit wall. We went and took photo's of bikes and fallers, sidecars on two wheels and all sots, come see.
Catch up with us on Twitter: @gocmc and Facebook
Cheers, enjoy and have fun.
